Pont du Gard

It's a bridge (on the second level) and an aqueduct (on the top level).
The Pont du Gard was built by the Romans and like so much of their fabulous engineering it's still standing. There were major floods about a decade ago and it wasn't damaged even though lots of the surrounding area was.

Amazing!!
I wish I had more time here to do some of the long walks in the area but we had to get home so the boys could get to their lesson the next day.

Standing on the bridge.

Posing in front of the Pont du Gard.

A rock with lichen (the thrills never end on my blog!!)

Taken from the hillside above.

One of the paths on the hillside.

I have about 30 photos but I'll limit myself to 5.

No I won't.

I'm posting another one or two.

On the hill nearby.
