Venice FTW!!!

We went to Venice on the spur of the moment because we wanted the boys to spend a quiet day indoors.
I don't often wish that I was a gifted writer but Venice makes me wish that I had something a bit better than 'fucking awesome' in my writing toolbox.
It may be kind of decayed and sinking but that's just part of its appeal.
When we arrived we figured that we could drive to our hotel. The sat nav kept sending us in circles so Bee asked for directions at a hotel. Once they recovered from their merriment the receptions were kind enough to point us towards a car park and send us on our way - on foot. It turns out that there are no cars in Venice. It's wonderfully quiet.

My phone was working overtime taking photos.....

Our hotel was awesome too :p

Ice Hockey

We went to watch our local team play a game against a Quebec team.
It was awesome!!! I'm tempted to go and live in North America just so I can watch it every weekend and on TV too.

I3 wasn't very happy at the game and insisted on leaving early much to Y5's disgust. Not long after we got home he vomited on me!!! I guess it's a good thing we left or he would have vomited on the people sitting near us.

Me, me, me.....

I feel kinda slack for posting such a photo heavy blog instead of taking the time to write anything. Our connection is pretty crappy. Our landlords run their business from downstairs and share a wireless connection with us. The connection is slow at the best of times but once people start uploading and downloading photos etc it slows to nothing so we've been asked not to transfer big files during the day. My M.O. so far has been to start my photos uploading and then go to sleep.
We usually go to sleep early, after being dragged out of bed by 7am and then spending a day on the mountain I'm usually ready for sleep by about 10. It's the first time in years I have slept 8 hours every night :)

My brother and his wife and their children came to stay for a fortnight. It was awesome having them here. I only wish they could have stayed longer. The boys really enjoyed playing with their cousin E who is just a little younger than I3.

The boys have a cold and it is raining so we were going to spend a quiet day indoors but now it seems that we're going to Venice and Bee is telling me to stop wasting time so I guess I had better get off my butt and pack - not that I mind hehehehe

Morzine

Thonon

We drove through a blizzard to get to the markets only to find that none of the marchands were as silly as us.
I think the boys were happier playing in the snow with their cousins than squeezing cheeses.

A pine tree

No that's not a Pine tree, it's Y cunningly disguised.

A toboggan ramp.

If you stick your tongue out for long enough you can catch snow flakes.

It's a bit flat for tobogganing at Dad's house so we built our own hill.

Yorkshire

It snowed at Dad's place so we built a snowman.

Life's tough.

World's biggest trebuchet - meh. Can it fire a rocket?

Traces of nuts!!!

It turns out that peanuts contain traces of nuts.
Fancy that!

Autobahn

We need a faster car!! People were overtaking us like we were out for a Sunday drive.
Australia needs autobahns!!!

Forchheim

Forchheim is home to the world's biggest advent calender and a Christmas market and not much else.
This house looks like it is about to fall into the stream behind it - it must be a total pain in the butt to live in, everything would slide to the side.

The Audi Museum.

We saw a sign on the road so we followed it and Bee had the happiest day of his life.

Munich

The Christmas markets. These people love Christmas.....
